My Little Math Whizs!

My first graders love math! It is part of the day when they are able to work as a class, in small groups, in partners, and just by themselves to problem solve! They love problem solving when it comes to numbers! Here are some of the math games and activities we like to do to practice problem solving.

Domino Top- It- We play in partners! Each student draws a domino. They each have to say how many dot there are all together. The student with the bigger number wins that draw. They keep playing until one player does not have any more dominos left!





Learning the difference between our "foot" and the foot we measure by! Students traced their own foot and compared it to a cut out foot that was the same length as a foot! Hehe!
