'Tis the Season

Before we went on Winter break, first grade had some fun! First, we made a special present for a special person we wrote about in our Writer's Workshop! We took pinecones and decorated them! Here is a picture of some of our master pieces!!



After we finished recognizing a special person in our life, we made gingerbread houses! We saved our milk cartons from lunch and used those as our base. We covered them with frosting and stuck graham crackers. The students were able to decorate using twisters, peppermints, red hots, gummies, and marshmellows! We definitely had tons of fun!


































Finally, we were able to sing Maia, Salvador, and Martin Happy Birthday! And celebrated their birthdays!

















OH WAIT!! One more surprise I gave them on the day before we left for break! I gave them each a gift (which was a book) and they FINALLY met Chili! :)
